Privacy policy
The short version
We do not collect your financial data. We could not, even if we wanted to. The calculator is JavaScript that runs inside your browser. The loan amount, rate, balance, home value and every other figure you type stays on your device: there is no server-side processing, no database, no account, no lead form and no transmission of your inputs anywhere.
What is stored, and where
- The address bar of your own browser. Your inputs are written into the query string of the page URL so that you can bookmark or share a simulation. This happens locally, in your browser. If you copy that link and send it to someone, you are sharing those figures with them — deliberately, by your own action. If you would rather not, simply do not copy the link.
- One session flag. If you dismiss the small advertising notice in the corner, a single value is stored in your browser's session storage so it does not reappear during the visit. It contains no personal data and disappears when you close the tab.
- Nothing else. No cookies are set by this site itself, no analytics package is installed, no tracking pixel, no fingerprinting, no email capture, and no data is sold or shared, because none exists.
Server logs
Like every website, the hosting provider records standard technical access logs (IP address, timestamp, requested file, user agent) for security and troubleshooting. These are generated by the web server, are not linked to any calculation you perform, and are not used by us to profile visitors.
Third parties
Two external services are involved in serving the page:
- Google Fonts serves the two typefaces used in the design. Loading a font makes a request to Google's servers, which necessarily reveals your IP address to them. No calculation data is included in that request.
- Advertising. The site is designed to be funded by display advertising and reserves clearly marked slots for it. [owner: when you activate an ad network, name it here and link to its privacy policy; ad networks typically set cookies and process personal data, which will also require a consent banner in the regions where consent is mandatory.]
Your rights
Where laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA apply, you have rights of access, correction, deletion and objection over personal data held about you. In practice we hold none: there is nothing to access, correct or delete, because the calculator never sends your data anywhere. This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
